Labradors are high-energy sporting dogs who love to be with people, are excellent with children, and who love to please you given the appropriate attention and work.
They require space to play and your time to train.
They exhibit puppy behavior well into adulthood and being retrievers they are 'mouthy'. That means they love to CHEW, CHEW, CHEW. Do not leave them alone with Great-Grandma's early American antique end tables. To a young Labrador retriever this just looks like a piece of wood to chew! They have been known to chew bushes, trees, shoes, and even sheetrock.
Labradors are WONDERFUL, lifetime companions-- they are not a spur of the moment purchase. Make sure you are ready to commit!
